Lagos is a land of opportunities

 Lagos is the biggest metropolitan area in Africa and has made a name for itself as a tech hub rapidly advancing towards a 24-hour economy, generating 10% of Nigeria's total GDP of $432.3 billion according to weforum data.

A look at the colonial roots of Lagos, Nigeria shows Lagos was bombarded by the British in 1852, annexed on 6th August 1861 and declared a colony on 5th March 1862. By 1872 Lagos was a cosmopolitan trading centre with a population over 60,000.

The colony and protectorate was incorporated into Southern Nigeria in February 1906, and Lagos became the capital in January 1914.

Since then Lagos has grown to become the largest city in West Africa and second largest in Africa.

Lagos has better job opportunities than other cities in Nigeria and as the city is rapidly growing there are more jobs in the construction sector and businesses are booming.

Lagos is the home of many of the country's Banks.

Most of the energy sector, oil and gas have their head offices in Lagos.

Manufacturing industries are at large in Lagos providing job opportunities for a whole lot of people.

Government departments also are here.

Lagos has a thriving film and music industry which provide employment opportunities for our people.

Nollywood films are very popular and thrive in Lagos.

The majority of the media houses are headquartered in Lagos too.

Lagos has good health care centres and hospitals with a better range of medicine.

The transportation system network is working well.

And of course a whole lot of good hangout spots to ease off and relax.

Lagos has great schools and plenty of choices to make a pick from, from nursery through secondary. Crime and safety rank favourably, and the quiet and peaceful feel of the place makes for just the ideal environment for families.

Accommodation is accessible depending on your budget and a lot of people who are house and property agents are doing quite well.

Feeding, and foodstuffs are made available at different locations with bush markets bringing fresh farm products to our communities.

Cultural identity is important to Nigerians and people from Lagos are happy to welcome foreigners, amongst others making Lagos a land full of opportunities.
